Please scroll down to locate your group and check each session you will attend. Students will only need to bring music for sessions labeled “chamber” or “studio class”. Instructions for those classes will be emailed to you directly.
We will not be holding checkpoints concurrently during these summer workshops, due to another scheduled event on campus.

Adult Studio Class
Location: Rafters
Musicians should bring a solo piece or tune that they are working on or have previously learned and are comfortable playing. Each participant will be given the opportunity to perform for the teacher and class and receive feedback and instruction.

how to practice: techniques and best practices for individual improvement
Location: Osborne Hall
all groups
Students will learn the difference between productive practice and simply playing through their music, and discover concrete strategies they can use at their very next practice session. This workshop covers slow practice, spot practice, and performance runs, and sends every student home with a simple daily routine they can start using right away.
Audition & performance 1o1: how to prepare for when it matters most
Location: Downstairs Classroom
all groups
A supportive, mixed-level workshop that prepares students for the experience of performing in front of others, whether at a studio recital or a formal audition. Students will develop a pre-performance routine, learn tools for managing nerves, and get the chance to perform for their peers in an encouraging, low-stakes setting.
Snacks will be provided at the close of the final session!
